This approach ensures that sensitive information, such as wallet secret key words and "spend keys," remains exclusively on the user's device. The only data sent to a MyMonero-compatible server is the "view key." Furthermore, MyMonero does not impose additional fees beyond the standard Monero network fee for sending money. Receiving funds is free, and creating new wallets incurs no charges. Users can manage multiple wallets simultaneously, allowing for separate accounts designated for savings and spending.

MyMonero prioritizes seamless in-person transactions while incorporating a user-friendly design. To send Monero to a friend, simply have them generate a Request QR code, scan it with your phone, and complete the transaction. Long and complex Monero addresses become a thing of the past with MyMonero's smart contacts support, enabling easy entry of email addresses or domains to find associated Monero addresses. All confidential data, including contacts and requests, is securely stored on users' devices using industry-standard AES-256 symmetric-key encryption. The app automatically locks itself when not in use, ensuring the highest level of security for secret keys.

Recognizing the continued relevance of world currencies like USD, MyMonero integrates currency countervalue support. Users can create requests in their preferred currency, and the sender's app will calculate the corresponding Monero amount when scanning the request.
